On September 10th, 2001, Donald Rumsfeld announced that the Pentagon’s budget committee had calculated $2.3 TRILLION in American Tax dollars were missing.
That’s roughly $8,000 for every man, woman, and child in America. The story was reported by CBS News. Unfortunately, the 9/11 attacks happened the next day, so the massive loss of our tax dollars was never thoroughly investigated and most certainly never resolved.
This massive loss of tax dollars to the military industrial complex is extremely bothersome to me, because we are now spending hundreds of billions more tax dollars on wars, when we should be figuring out where that $2.3 Trillion went.
For every multi-thousand dollar bomb that is dropped, tens of thousands of starving and malnourished children could be fed.
For every multi-thousand dollar vehicle that is destroyed, hundreds of villages could experience what it is like to drink clean water.
For every multi-thousand dollar building that is razed, millions of suffering people could receive the medicine they deserve.
I strongly encourage you to write to your congressmen, to the White House, to local media outlets, and protest, if you are concerned…
Thanks for your time,
-Abe
